It's a 65 kms from ahmedabad. Between october to walk, the sanctuary is home of group of local and migrated birds with about 250 species going through the park. The lake is a heaven for birdwatchers; it's particularly in winter when it draws in excess of 100 types of migratory birds. Around the lake are the environments of the endangered saras crane and all globally threatened predator are found in the fields. Groups of ducks can be seen and the various islands on the lake are perching locales for some birds. Flamingos, storks and spoonbills are as often as possible seen taking care of in the swallows. There are odds of seeing raptors too like the marsh harrier, grater spotted eagle and the threatened pallas fish eagle. Ducks, geese, pelicans and flamingos are best observed promptly in the first part of the day (around 5 am) and at night. Its best to book a boat for a couple of hours so that you can go to various ends of the place and get a close look at the birds.
