Dholavira is an archaeological site in Kutch also known as Kotada timba. It is on the Tropical of Cancer and is the fifth largest Harappan site of eight sites. The city has a unique striking feature as all the buildings in it are built from stone when compared to the sites in Harappan and Mohenjo-daro as they were built of bricks. Another unique feature of this city is the sophisticated water conservation system. The city consists of huge reservoirs out of which three are exposed. The inhabitants of Dholavira have made more than 16 reservoirs of different size. Some of them were also cut through stones vertically. In the year of 2014, an excavation was started on a stepwell and it was three times larger than the great bath of Mohenjo-daro.
