Modhera sun temple is best case of hindu engineering in Gujarat. The sun temple at modhera goes back to mid eleventh century and was worked by ruler Bhimdev-I in 1026 ce. The sanctum was intended to permit the daylight to light up the principle statue, no longer in the temple. The quality and amount of carvings along its dividers depicting god, different figures and suggestive positions are uncommon. Before the temple is a huge tank, which was once known as surya kund or rama kund. The tank has a progression of cut advances prompting the base. A few smaller than normal places of worship embellish the means of the tank – which is a craftsmanship display in itself.
