Champaner is located in Panchmahal district which is about 47 kilometres from Vadodara. It was founded by Vanraj Chavda and named it after his friend Champa. There is Jama Masjid in Champaner which is considered as the finest architectural structure of Gujarat. The structure has a central dome, two towers which are of 30 metres in height, 172 pillars, 7 mihrabs and the entrance gates are craved with fine windows also called Jalis.
